Just like everything else in life, rugs are some of the things that can get stained pretty easily, especially since they’re placed on the floor.
Some things can damage or seriously stain your rugs, like coffee spills, pet urine, or even wine spills.
Naturally, this can be quite an annoying occurrence, especially if your rugs are relatively new. However, there’s no reason to fret because there are ways for you to remove the different stains out of the rugs in your Woodlands home.
Now, depending on what you’ve spilled or what kind of stain it is, there are different ways for you to tackle these stained problems.
These are simply some of the following “hacks” that you can do with your own rugs at your Woodlands home:
1. What if your toddler drew all over your rugs using washable markers?
If you have a toddler running around your home, then this can be a likely occurrence in your home. Although, there’s no reason to worry nor stress out because washable markers can come off of your rugs.
Simply do the following steps, and you’ll be good to go:
• Remove any kind of debris before cleaning the stains off your rugs, and be sure not to use too much pressure. • You can blot the area with paper towels or a color-safe cloth, and don’t scrub nor rub the stained spot because this can spread the stain and ruin your rug’s fibers. • Before using any store-bought cleaning product, it’s best to test a small patch first to know if it’s safe to use on your rug. • Lastly, rinse the stained area with cold water. 2. What if your pets have urinated all over your rugs?
This is something that most pet owners worry about because your pets can sometimes have little “accidents” on your rugs. Now, not only will pet urine stain your rugs, but they can also leave an awfully bad smell.
So here are the steps that you should follow to make your rugs look good as new:
• You have to blot the stained area with a bunch of paper towels and apply pressure so they can absorb as much of the liquid as possible. • It’s best to use a pet stain remover or a homemade green dishwashing liquid and water mixture to clean the stained spot. • Rinse the stained area with cold water and blot again until it’s somewhat dry. 3. What if you accidentally spilled beverages all over your rugs?
Now, this is an all too familiar occurence to most homeowners, not just in the Woodlands but around the country as well. Maybe you’ve had one too many cups of coffee or wine, and you accidentally spilled it onto your rugs.
These are the things that you have to do:
• First, you have to blot the stained area with either paper towels or color-safe cloths. • It’s important to spray the stained area with a mixture of white vinegar, water, and a non-bleach detergent. • Then you have to rinse the stained area with water. • It’s best to repeat the last two steps as many times as it’s required.
These are simply some of the tricks that you can use to ensure that you’re safely getting all the stains out of your precious rugs and so they can look good as new.
